Louisiana Trophy Whitetail Deer Hunts

For your comfort, our Trophy Whitetail Deer Hunting Stands are custom elevated box stands overlooking feeding stations, transition cover, fields, and food plots for optimal whitetail success. All our deer hunting stands have functioning windows, office style chairs, heat, are covered, and a view that only a whitetail hunter can appreciate. All our Trophy Whitetail Gun Hunts are done in enclosed Box Stands that can accommodate three to four adults. All whitetail deer hunting stands are strategically placed over Food Plots (Imperial Whitetail Clover, Alfalfa and Chicory) and have timed feeders.

The box stands or shooting houses have an average shot distance of 100 yards ranging up to several hundred yards for high success and hunter concealment. Recommended Whitetail Deer Hunting Rifle minimum caliber for whitetail deer rifle hunts at Diamond J Ranch will be a .243 bolt action and up. The only AR platform we allow is an AR10 in a .308 or 6.5 Creedmoor. Diamond J will have multiple options of Hunting Rifles to use to harvest your whitetail while deer hunting if needed. While discussing your trophy deer hunting trip, please let us know if you will need to be provided with a whitetail deer hunting weapon.

A Typical Guided Trophy Whitetail Deer Hunting Day starts 30 minutes prior to daylight. Your guide provides a small breakfast upon wake up consisting of something light like Honey Buns, Protein Bar, Cereal, Toast, Jelly, peanut butter, and a hot pot of Coffee. You and your guide head to the stand for a morning whitetail hunt until 9-10 A.M. depending on movement. Your whitetail hunting guide will retrieve any down deer you may have, take pictures, and then you both will head back to the hunting lodge for a big breakfast.

Your breakfast will generally be bacon, eggs, grits, sausage, biscuits, and gravy, the works, probably much more than you can eat. After a big breakfast you can walk out the back and enjoy your own private 20-acre fishing pond, rod and reels must be brought by guest, for plenty of Bass, Blue Gill, and Crappie fishing. If you happen to have an appetite before you and your guide, go out in the afternoon, we always have snacks and lunch meat available to make sandwiches and always time for a nap if you choose.

You and your guide will head back out to the deer hunting stand around three or three thirty and whitetail hunt until dark, your guide will retrieve any harvested game, then back to the lodge for a BIG dinner. Our evening meals consist of a hardy meal, Steaks, Fried Fish, Pork Chops, or something along those lines with all the fixings and then time to relax to watch a game or sit around the campfire telling tall tales. We also have a fully stocked bar for you to enjoy with snacks, Beer, Whiskey, Wine, etc.

Recommended Trophy Whitetail Hunting Gear you want to bring are a good pair of binoculars so you can get a good look at the trophy whitetail you will see, a pair of rubber or waterproof boots as it can get wet that time of year even though you can be dropped at the box stand upon request, dark upper clothing (camo, grey or black) as that will make for great concealment in a box stand where it is dark. Optional items are range finder (we are there to help), a shooting stick if you happen to need to adjust based on your height (we have shooting sticks, but you might want to bring your own if it is what your use too), a seat cushion for children if we need to get them higher, but the chairs can adjust.

As the Diamond J Ranch is a family friendly hunting ranch, we also have several activities for children. There is a small zipline that extends about 150 yards long, a big swing set and tree house area available as well. We can also take the kids (and adults) for tours of the whitetail deer breeding pens to see some of the bottle raised doe that will eat peanuts and cookies right out of your hand. Keep in mind these are not the whitetail deer we are hunting; these are strictly whitetail deer that are raised for breeding purposes and sold to other breeders across the State.
