Louisiana Exotic Hunts
Diamond J provides year-round Exotic hunting opportunities for Axis Deer, Fallow Deer, and Blackbuck Antelope here in Louisiana. We provide rifle or muzzle loader exotic hunting packages to maximize your success rate for the Exotic Hunt. You can add an exotic hunt to a whitetail deer hunt and receive a $500 discount off your total hunt package. Onsite lodging, meals, guide, transportation, and skinning are all included for each Exotic Hunting Package priced below. Our Exotic Hunts are done in an enclosed Box Stand that can accommodate three to four adults. The hunting Stands are strategically placed over Food Plots (Imperial Whitetail Clover, Alfalfa, Chicory) and have timed feeders.
Axis Deer Hunts
An Exotic Axis Deer can be hunted almost all year long. We have both summer bucks and winter bucks depending on when they were born. Axis Deer will shed velvet based on original birthing time and therefore will be able to be hunted two different exotic seasons per year. Axis make a great addition to any trophy room, camp, office, or house, you can even have their hide tanned for a gorgeous rug. Axis Deer can be one of the hardest exotic hunts because they are so cautious, so we make sure not to overpressure our Axis Deer herd, so you have good opportunities at some very impressive trophies.
Axis is some of the best wild game you may ever eat. The meat has almost a zero wild game taste and aging or soaking in a brine is almost unnecessary and can be cooked within minutes of harvesting. If you choose to add an exotic axis deer hunt to any whitetail hunting package you will receive a $500 discount towards your hunt total. All our Axis Deer Hunting Packages include 2 nights lodging, 2 days of hunting, with meals included.
Axis Buck Hunt $4,000 and up (depending on size) per hunter
Blackbuck Hunts
Blackbuck Antelope are another great exotic game animal to pursue. Not the largest of 4 legged animals but they may be the meanest. A male Blackbuck will collect a harem and fight to the death to keep his girls, so the action is usually very good, especially through March or April. Blackbuck trophies always look good on the wall and can be hunted all year long. Blackbuck are a hard horned animal that does not shed they continue to grow their horns all year long. If you choose to add an exotic Blackbuck hunt to your whitetail hunting package you will receive a $500 discount towards your hunt total. Blackbuck hunting packages include 2 nights lodging, 2 days of hunting, with meals included.
Fallow Deer Hunts
Fallow Deer do not have seasonal restrictions though September through February are highly recommended for an antlered Fallow Deer Exotic Hunt. There are three color phases of a Fallow Deer. They include a chocolate Fallow, Spotted Fallow, and a White Fallow, any of which will make a great addition to your trophies and a splendid dining experience equal to an Axis deer. Most Exotic Fallow Deer Hunts are either Rifle or Muzzle Loader for increased success. Fallow Hunts added to any whitetail hunting package will receive a $500 discount off your total hunt package price. Each Fallow Deer Hunting Package includes 2 nights lodging, 2 days of hunting, meals, guide service, transportation, and skinning.

Typical Louisiana Exotic Hunting Day
A Typical Exotic Hunting Day starts around dark thirty depending on sunrise. We will provide a continental option upon wake up consisting of something light like Honey Buns, Protein Bar, Cereal, Toast, Jelly, peanut butter, and a hot pot of Coffee. We then head to the hunting stand for a morning exotic hunt until about 10. Your exotic hunting guide will retrieve any down animal you may have, pictures, and then you both will head back to the lodge for a big breakfast.
Breakfast will generally be eggs, grits, sausage, biscuits, and gravy, the works, probably much more than you can eat. You can always simply relax after a big breakfast, or you can walk out the back and enjoy your own private 20-acre fishing pond, rods and tackle provided for plenty of Bass, Blue Gil, and Crappie fishing. If you happen to have an appetite before we go out in the afternoon, we always have snacks and lunch meat available to make sandwiches and always time for a nap if you choose.
You can expect to be back out around three or three thirty and exotic hunt until dark, retrieve any harvested game, then back to the lodge for a BIG dinner. Our evening meals consist of a hardy meal, usually something like a fish fry, steak, or something along those lines and then time to relax to watch a game or sit around the campfire telling tall tales. Diamond J also has a fully stocked bar for you to enjoy including snacks, Beer, Whiskey, Vodka etc.
